The Looky Book - our family favourite

I just wanted to quickly share this with you - cos, duh, I have drawing to do! Or reading, or fixing someone a snack (naturally)...

We have a new addition to our Donovan Bixley library (Wheels on the Bus and Old MacDonalds Farm) - The Looky Book. It's crazy full of 'I spy' style illustrations that keep Zoe mesmerised for ages. She often falls asleep at night cradling it! She's worn herself out finding the native NZ birds and critters, matched lizard's stripes, matched sheep to their favourite ice-creams, found crazy underwater creatures then counted her way to the land of nod.

I thoroughly recommend this awesome book for your family, especially if you're an expat who's wanting to keep the kiwiness in the family. It's super engaging, ridiculously detailed and really really fun. I just love it and again am in awe of Donovan's talent as an illustrator. And if you're already a fan of his books you'll be pleased to know that The Looky Book includes all your favourite characters from those previous titles. Well, Zoe was pretty stoked anyway...

Zoe wanted to show you her favourite things on her favourite pages (thus the itty-bitty pointer finger)... so here you go:

  2. Super cool! I'm an expat living in Sydney and my Aunty has sent my eldest son the other two books for the last two Christmases. Will have to get her to keep an eye out for this one, my boy loves the pictures and I love teaching him all about kiwiana!!
