I may be a little behind on this hair trend but I love it all the same. I have been pretty much hiding under a rock with the kids the past year anyway, so I'm quite stoked to enjoy something fun and new with my hair.
I used to put feathers in my hair when I was a teenager, so to have some nice pretty feathers that are fixed to my head for the next few months (until I move them) is pretty cool.
I bought my first hair feather extension from a cute stall at the Coatesville Market last year. I wanted more so did some digging on Etsy and found PrettyVagrant, a seller with a ridiculous amount of gorgeous feathers, all different sizes and colours AND the option to make a custom order (not to mention less than a third of the price I was charged here - sorry locals). I wanted some blues and greens and 'grizzly' feathers (the stripy ones) and Ann was so friendly and helpful, she put a mix together especially for me no trouble at all. I'm pretty sure I ordered them just the other day and they arrived so quickly (from the USA) and I promptly put them in my hair asap.
You use pliers to squeeze down a crimp bead on a tiny part of your hair with the feathers threaded through. Ann provided a small tool for threading, a bead that matched my hair colour and an instruction sheet. The feathers are real chicken feathers and are salon ready, can be blow dried, straightened/curled, washed... whatever, just like you're normal hair. WIN.
I recently put a chunk of blonde in my hair so one side of my head has a ridiculous mix of all kinds of colours, and now including greens and blues thanks to the beautiful feathers.

Oh my goodness just checked in with your blog and so glad to see you're still lovely as ever teeheehee :p
